Cream-Filled Donuts

Ingredients

For the dough:
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
2 ¼ tsp (1 packet) active dry yeast
¾ cup warm milk
2 tbsp butter (softened)
1 egg

For frying:

Oil (for deep frying)

For the filling & topping:

1 cup heavy whipping cream
2 tbsp powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

1. Make the dough
In a bowl, mix warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
Add sugar, egg, butter, and salt.
Gradually add flour and knead until smooth and soft.
Cover and let it rise for 1–1.5 hours (until doubled in size).

2. Shape the donuts
Roll out the dough to about 1 cm thickness.
Cut into circles (use a glass if needed).
Place on a tray, cover, and let rise again for 30 minutes.

3. Fry
Heat oil to medium heat.
Fry donuts until golden brown on both sides.
Remove and place on paper towels.

4. Prepare the cream
Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.

5. Assemble
Pipe whipped cream on top of each donut in a swirl.
Dust with powdered sugar.
(Optional) Add jam in the center for extra flavor.

Tips
Don’t overheat the oil or the donuts will burn outside and stay raw inside.
You can fill the inside with cream or custard instead of topping.
