3 cups (375 g) all-purpose flour
2 ¼ tsp (7 g) instant yeast
¼ cup (50 g) sugar
1 tsp salt
¾ cup (180 ml) warm milk
1 egg
¼ cup (60 g) melted butter

Vegetable oil (for frying)

✅ Instructions
Activate yeast
Mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
Make the dough
Add egg and melted butter. Mix well.
Add flour and salt, then knead for 8–10 minutes until soft and elastic.
First rise
Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1–1.5 hours until doubled.
Shape doughnuts
Roll dough to 1 cm thickness.
Cut circles using a doughnut cutter or two round cutters.
Second rise
Place on a tray, cover, and rest for 30–40 minutes.
Fry
Heat oil to 170–180°C (340–355°F).
Fry doughnuts 1–2 minutes per side until golden brown.
Coat with sugar
While warm, roll doughnuts in sugar.
✅ Tips for Perfect Doughnuts
Don’t overheat oil (or doughnuts will burn outside and stay raw inside).
Dough should be soft, not sticky—add a little flour if needed.
You can coat with cinnamon sugar or glaze instead of plain sugar.
