Broccoli noodle casserole

Our broccoli noodle casserole with ham goes into the oven in just 25 minutes. Topped with cream sauce and cheese, itโ€™s deliciously creamy and crispy. The whole family will love it!

INGREDIENTS

FOR THE BROCCOLI PASTA CASSEROLE

1 broccoli (approx. 500 g each)

ยฝ tsp salt

400 g croissant pasta (or penne)

1 onion

1 garlic clove

100 g cooked ham

30 g butter

30 g flour (type 405)

300 ml vegetable stock

200 ml cream (30% fat)

150 g grated Gouda (48% fat in dry matter)

some ground pepper

some grated nutmeg

ALSO

some butter for the dish

PREPARATION

1. Wash the broccoli, drain, cut the florets from the stalk. Cook the florets in boiling salted water for 1-2 minutes, drain and rinse with cold water. Cook the pasta in salted water according to the instructions on the packet, drain and rinse.

2. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees (fan oven 160 degrees) and grease a casserole dish (ร˜ 26 cm) with a little butter. Peel the onion and garlic and dice finely. Cut the ham into thin strips.

3. Melt the butter in a pan. Sautรฉ the onion and garlic cubes for 2-3 minutes, add the flour and sweat briefly until light.

4. Deglaze the roux with cold stock, stir with a whisk until smooth and simmer for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly. Stir in the cream and 1/3 of the Gouda and season with salt, pepper and nutmeg.

5. Mix the broccoli, pasta and ham strips and spread in the casserole dish. Pour the sauce over the casserole, sprinkle with the remaining Gouda and bake in the preheated oven for approx. 25 minutes until golden brown. Divide the casserole onto plates. Serve with a colorful salad. Enjoy!
