This potato mince casserole is super tasty and is even suitable for losing weight.
500g potatoes
50g grated cheese
Fresh herbs to sprinkle on top
Ingredients for the minced meat and vegetable sauce:
300g lean minced meat / ground meat
300g carrots
200g leek
1 large onion
1 cup of strained tomatoes
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tsp olive oil
Ingredients for the béchamel sauce:
300g semi-skimmed milk
50g flour
2 cloves of garlic
Salt, pepper, nutmeg
1 tbsp olive oil
Preparation:
1.) Peel the potatoes and cut into thin slices. Cook in salted water for 10 minutes until soft.
2.) Meanwhile, finely chop the onion and garlic. Cut the carrots into small pieces and the leek into thin rings.
3.) Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan and fry the onion, leek and carrots. Add the minced meat and fry. Add tomato paste and strained tomatoes and season everything with salt and pepper.
4.) For the béchamel sauce, heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan and briefly sauté the garlic. Then briefly fry the flour.
5.) Pour in the milk and stir well with a whisk until the mixture has thickened and all lumps have disappeared. Season to taste with salt, pepper and a pinch of nutmeg.
6.) Spread a thin layer of béchamel into a casserole dish as the first layer. Spread a layer of potato slices on top. Then layer the minced meat and vegetable mixture on top. Then add another layer of potatoes. Cover the potatoes with the remaining béchamel sauce. Finally, sprinkle the cheese over the casserole.
7.) Bake the casserole at 180 degrees top and bottom heat for about 20 minutes. Then garnish with fresh herbs and serve.
