Strawberry cake


200 grams of flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
8 egg yolks
6 egg whites
200 grams of sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
50 g of melted butter
1 jar of strawberry jam
2 egg whites
250 gr of pureed strawberries
250 grams of sugar


Preheat oven to 180° Celsius. Grease and flour a baking pan. In a bowl sift the flour and baking powder.

Booking. Beat 6 whites to the point of nougat. In another bowl beat the sugar and egg yolks. Add the self-rising flour, vanilla, butter and the 6 egg whites.

Pour into pan and bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into center of bread comes out clean. Let cool slightly, then unmold and place on a wire rack to cool completely.

To prepare the meringue, beat the egg whites, strawberries and half the sugar. When the mixture has hardened, gradually add the rest of the sugar.

When the cake has cooled, cut it in half, sideways, and fill it with strawberry jam. Cover it with the meringue. Decorate with strawberries.
