Sausages with Vegetable Rice

Pan-Fried Sausages with Vegetable Rice

Ingredients

For the Sausages:
6–8 fresh sausages (beef, chicken, or turkey)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon butter (optional, for extra flavor)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon dried herbs (thyme or Italian seasoning)
Fresh parsley (for garnish)
For the Vegetable Rice:
1 cup long-grain rice
2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
½ cup peas
½ cup diced carrots
¼ cup diced red bell pepper
2 tablespoons corn (optional)
1 tablespoon oil or butter
Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1️⃣ Cook the Rice:
Rinse the rice under cold water.
Heat oil or butter in a pot over medium heat.

Add carrots and cook for 2–3 minutes.
Stir in rice and cook for 1 minute.
Add broth, salt, and pepper.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.

Add peas, bell pepper, and corn during the last 5 minutes.
Fluff with a fork and set aside.

2️⃣ Cook the Sausages:
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
Add sausages and cook for 12–15 minutes, turning occasionally until golden brown and fully cooked.

Add butter, garlic powder, paprika, black pepper, and herbs during the last few minutes.

Spoon the melted butter over the sausages for extra flavor.
Garnish with chopped parsley.

Serving:
Serve the golden sausages hot alongside the vegetable rice.
