Chocolate Marble Cupcakes

Ingredients

For the cupcake batter:
1½ cups (190g) all-purpose flour
1 cup (200g) sugar
1½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
¼ tsp salt
2 large eggs
½ cup (120ml) milk
½ cup (120ml) vegetable oil
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup (120ml) warm water

For the chocolate mixture:

2 tbsp cocoa powder
2 tbsp warm water

Instructions

Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
Line a cupcake tray with paper liners.
Prepare Batter
In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla.
Mix until smooth.

Add the warm water and mix again until the batter is thin and smooth.
Make Chocolate Batter
In a small bowl, mix the cocoa powder with 2 tbsp warm water.

Take 1 cup of the vanilla batter and mix it with the cocoa mixture to form the chocolate batter.
Fill Cupcake Liners
Add a spoonful of vanilla batter to each liner.

Add a spoonful of chocolate batter on top.
Use a toothpick to swirl them gently to create a marble effect.
Bake
Bake for 18–22 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Let them cool completely.
Optional Frosting
Top with vanilla or chocolate buttercream if desired.
