Chocolate Buttercream Frosting
Ingredients
1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened
3½ cups (420g) powdered sugar, sifted
½ cup (50g) unsweetened cocoa powder
3–4 tablespoons heavy cream or milk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Pinch of salt (optional, enhances chocolate flavor)

Instructions
1. Cream the butter
Beat the softened butter on medium speed for 2–3 minutes until pale and fluffy.
2. Add dry ingredients
Gradually mix in the powdered sugar and cocoa powder on low speed until combined.
3. Add liquids
Pour in vanilla extract and 3 tablespoons of cream. Beat on medium-high for 2–3 minutes.
4. Adjust consistency
Add more cream (1 tbsp at a time) for a softer frosting.
Add more powdered sugar for a thicker texture.
5. Final whip
Beat on high speed for 1 minute until light and silky smooth.
Tips for Best Results
Use room-temperature butter for a smooth finish
For deeper chocolate flavor, replace 2 tbsp cocoa with melted dark chocolate (cooled)
If frosting is too sweet, add a pinch of salt or espresso powder.
