Chocolate Cream Layer Cake
Ingredients
For the Chocolate Cake
1 cup (200 g) sugar
1 cup (130 g) all-purpose flour
½ cup (50 g) cocoa powder
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1 large egg
½ cup (120 ml) milk
¼ cup (60 ml) vegetable oil
½ cup (120 ml) hot water or hot coffee
For the Cream Filling
1 cup (240 ml) heavy whipping cream
3 tbsp sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Chocolate Ganache
150 g dark chocolate
½ cup (120 ml) heavy cream
For Decoration
Whipped cream swirls
Chocolate shavings or curls

Instructions
1. Make the Chocolate Cake
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
2. In a bowl, mix sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. Add egg, milk, and oil. Mix until smooth.
4. Add the hot water last and whisk (batter will be thin — that’s normal).
5. Pour into a greased cake pan and bake for 25–30 minutes.
6. Let cool completely, then cut the cake into two layers.
2. Make the Cream Filling
1. Whip the heavy cream with sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
2. Spread the whipped cream evenly between the two cake layers.
3. Make the Chocolate Ganache
1. Heat the heavy cream until steaming (do not boil).
2. Pour over the chocolate pieces and let sit for 1 minute.
3. Stir until smooth and glossy.
4. Pour the ganache over the top of the cake and let it drip down the sides.
4. Decoration
Pipe whipped cream swirls on top.
Add chocolate shavings or curls for garnish.
