Chocolate Strawberry Cake

Chocolate Strawberry Cake Recipe

Ingredients

For the cake:

1 and ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 cup sugar

½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 ½ tsp baking powder

½ tsp baking soda

½ tsp salt

2 large eggs

¾ cup milk

½ cup vegetable oil

2 tsp vanilla extract

¾ cup hot water

For the strawberry frosting:

1 cup unsalted butter (softened)

3 cups powdered sugar

3–4 tbsp strawberry puree or strawberry jam

A few drops of pink food coloring (optional)

For decoration:

Fresh strawberries (halved or whole)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease and flour a round cake pan (8 or 9-inch).

2. Make the cake batter:

In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Beat until smooth.

Slowly mix in the hot water until combined (the batter will be thin).

3. Bake:
Pour batter into the pan and bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Let it cool completely.

4. Prepare the frosting:

Beat butter until creamy.

Gradually add powdered sugar.

Mix in strawberry puree or jam and food coloring (if desired) until smooth and fluffy.

5. Assemble the cake:

Spread strawberry frosting evenly over the cooled cake.

Decorate with fresh strawberries on top.
