Marbled Vanilla Cake

Marbled Vanilla and Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

• 200g butter (at room temperature)
• 1 cup sugar (200g)
• 4 eggs
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 2 1/2 cups flour (300g)
• 1 tablespoon baking powder
• 1 cup milk (240ml)
• 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
• 100g dark chocolate (melted)

Instructions

1. Prepare the base mix
• Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
• Grease and flour a cake pan.
• In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until creamy.
• Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
• Add the vanilla extract and mix.

2. Add the dry ingredients
• In another bowl, sift the flour and baking powder.
• Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk.
• Mix until everything is combined.

3. Divide the batter
• Divide the batter into two equal parts.
• Add the cocoa powder and melted chocolate to one part. Mix well.
• Leave the other part vanilla flavored.

4. Assemble the marble cake
• Place alternating spoonfuls of both mixtures into the pan, creating uneven layers.
• Use a knife or toothpick to swirl them together to achieve a marbled effect.

5. Bake
• Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
• Let cool in the pan for a few minutes before removing from the pan.

6. Serve
• Let cool completely.
• Cut and enjoy the beautiful vanilla and chocolate swirls in each slice. Delicious!
