HOMEMADE CHURROS WITH CHOCOLATE 😋
Ingredients
For the churros:
300 grams of wheat flour
440 milliliters of water
1 teaspoon salt
30 grams of butter
sugar (to decorate)
extra virgin olive oil (for frying)
For the hot chocolate:
400 grams of chocolate
1 liter of milk
Preparation
To prepare the homemade churros:
1. Put the water, salt and butter in a saucepan and heat it up. When it starts to boil, add the flour, stir it and remove from the heat. Mix everything well until you have a compact mass. Put the dough in a bowl, cover it with plastic wrap and let it rest in the fridge for a few hours (if it’s the whole night better).
2. Introduce the dough into a rigid pastry bag or churrera (make sure that the dough is compact and airless so that the oil does not jump out when frying).
3. Put a pot with plenty of oil on the fire. When the oil is hot, add portions of dough with the pastry bag and cut them with scissors. Fry the churros until golden. Then, leave them on a plate with absorbent paper to remove excess oil.
For the hot chocolate:
1. Put the chopped chocolate and the milk in a saucepan over the heat. Let cook while stirring until the chocolate has completely melted and the texture is to your liking. If you want it thicker, let it cook longer.
2. Serve the homemade churros sprinkled with sugar and accompany them with hot chocolate.
