Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

2 1/4 cups (280g) all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 cup (230g) unsalted butter, melted
3/4 cup (150g) brown sugar
1/2 cup (100g) white sugar
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 large egg + 1 egg yolk
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups (340g) chocolate chips

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Mix dry ingredients
In a bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda.

Mix wet ingredients
In another bowl, combine melted butter, brown sugar, and white sugar.

Add vanilla, egg, and egg yolk. Mix until smooth.
Combine
Gradually add dry ingredients into the wet mixture. Stir until just combined.

Add chocolate chips
Fold in the chocolate chips evenly.
Shape cookies
Scoop dough into balls and place on tray (leave space between them).

Bake
Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden but center is soft.
Cool
Let cookies cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Tips:
For softer cookies: don’t overbake
For thicker cookies: chill dough for 30 minutes
Add nuts (optional) for extra crunch
