Soft Milk Bread Rolls (Pull-Apart Rolls)
Ingredients
4 cups (500 g) all-purpose flour
1 cup (240 ml) warm milk
2¼ tsp (7 g) instant yeast
¼ cup (50 g) sugar
1 tsp salt
1 egg (room temperature)
¼ cup (60 g) unsalted butter, softened
For topping
1 egg yolk + 1 tbsp milk (egg wash)
Sesame seeds or sugar (optional)

Instructions
Activate Yeast
In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
Make Dough
Add egg, butter, salt, and flour. Mix until a soft dough forms.
Knead
Knead 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
First Rise
Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1 hour or until doubled.
Shape Rolls
Divide dough into 6 equal balls. Shape smooth and place in a greased baking dish.
Second Rise
Cover and let rise 30–40 minutes until puffy.
Prepare for Baking
Lightly score tops with a sharp blade. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle toppings.
Bake
Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
Finish
Brush with melted butter for extra softness.
Tips
For extra softness, replace 2 tbsp milk with heavy cream
Cover with foil if browning too fast
