Chocolate Tart Oreo Cake

Ingredients

Chocolate Cake
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups sugar
¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tsp baking powder
1½ tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 eggs
1 cup milk
½ cup vegetable oil
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup hot water or hot coffee
Chocolate Buttercream Frosting
1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
3½ cups powdered sugar
½ cup cocoa powder
3–4 tbsp milk or cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
Chocolate Ganache (Drip)
1 cup dark chocolate (chopped or chips)
½ cup heavy cream
Decoration
Oreo cookies
Extra chocolate buttercream (for piping)

Instructions

1. Make the Cake
Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and line a square cake pan.
In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Mix well.
Stir in hot water/coffee (batter will be thin).
Pour into pan and bake 35–40 minutes.
Let cool completely, then level if needed.

2. Make the Buttercream
Beat butter until creamy.
Add powdered sugar and cocoa powder gradually.
Add milk and vanilla. Beat until smooth and fluffy.

3. Assemble the Cake
Frost the cake evenly with chocolate buttercream.
Chill for 20–30 minutes to set.

4. Make the Ganache
Heat cream until hot (not boiling).
Pour over chocolate and let sit 2 minutes.
Stir until smooth.
Let cool slightly, then drip over the cake edges.

5. Decorate
Pipe chocolate buttercream rosettes around the edges.
Place Oreo cookies between the rosettes.
Chill before serving.

✅ Tips
Use coffee instead of water for deeper chocolate flavor.
Chill the cake before adding ganache for clean drips.
