Marble Chocolate Loaf Cake

Ingredients

For the cake:
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
¾ cup sugar
½ cup vegetable oil or melted butter
3 eggs (room temperature)
1 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp cocoa powder
2 tbsp milk (extra, for cocoa batter)

For the chocolate glaze:

½ cup dark chocolate (chopped or chips)
¼ cup heavy cream
Chocolate shavings (optional, for topping)

Instructions

1. Prepare the batter

Preheat oven to 170°C (340°F). Grease and line a loaf pan.
In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.

In another bowl, whisk eggs and sugar until light.

Add oil, milk, and vanilla. Mix well.
Gradually add dry ingredients and mix until smooth.

2. Make marble effect
Divide batter into two bowls.
Add cocoa powder + 2 tbsp milk to one bowl and mix.

Spoon vanilla and chocolate batter alternately into the loaf pan.
Use a skewer or knife to gently swirl for a marble pattern.

3. Bake
Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Let cool completely.

Chocolate Glaze
Heat cream until hot (not boiling).
Pour over chocolate and stir until smooth.
Pour glaze over the cake and sprinkle chocolate shavings.
Tips
Use room temperature ingredients for best texture.
