Velvet Fudge Chocolate Cake
Ingredients
For the Cake
1 ½ cups (190g) all-purpose flour
½ cup (50g) cocoa powder
1 ½ cups sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
2 large eggs
½ cup vegetable oil
1 cup buttermilk (or 1 cup milk + 1 tbsp vinegar)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup hot coffee (or hot water)
For the Fudge Frosting
200g dark chocolate
½ cup (115g) butter
1 cup powdered sugar
½ cup heavy cream
1 tsp vanilla

Instructions
1. Make the Cake
1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
2. Grease and line two 8-inch cake pans.
3. In a bowl, whisk together:
flour, cocoa, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
4. Add eggs, oil, buttermilk, and vanilla. Mix well.
5. Slowly pour in the hot coffee and mix until smooth.
6. Divide batter into pans and bake 30–35 minutes.
7. Cool completely.
2. Make the Fudge Frosting
1. Melt chocolate + butter together.
2. Add powdered sugar, cream, and vanilla.
3. Whisk until thick, smooth, and glossy.
4. Chill 10 minutes before frosting.
3. Assemble
1. Place the first cake layer, add frosting.
2. Add the second layer and cover the entire cake with fudge frosting.
3. Smooth the sides for a velvet glossy finish.

Cocoa dust
Drizzle of melted chocolate
Ferrero or truffles on top.
