Chocolate Cake with Ganache & Roasted Nuts
Ingredients
For the Cake:
1 cup (200 g) sugar
3 large eggs
½ cup (120 ml) vegetable oil
1 cup (240 ml) milk
1 cup (125 g) all-purpose flour
½ cup (50 g) cocoa powder
1 tbsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
For the Ganache Topping:
200 g dark or milk chocolate
½ cup (120 ml) heavy cream
½ tbsp butter (optional, for shine)
Roasted chopped nuts (hazelnuts, almonds, or peanuts)

Instructions
1. Prepare the Cake Batter
1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and line a round cake tin.
2. In a bowl, whisk sugar + eggs until fluffy.
3. Add oil, milk, and vanilla. Mix well.
4. In another bowl, sift flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until smooth.
2. Bake
Pour the batter into the cake tin.
Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Let the cake cool completely.
3. Make the Ganache
1. Heat the cream until hot (not boiling).
2. Pour over the chopped chocolate.
3. Let sit 1 minute, then stir until smooth.
4. Add butter for shine (optional).
4. Assemble
1. Spread the chocolate ganache over the cooled cake.
2. Sprinkle roasted chopped nuts generously on top.
3. Let sit 10–15 minutes before slicing.
