Butter Cookies Recipe

Ingredients:

1 cup (230g) unsalted butter, softened

3/4 cup (90g) powdered sugar

1 and 1/2 cups (190g) all-purpose flour

1/4 cup (30g) cornstarch

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/4 tsp salt

Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven:
Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.

2. Cream the butter and sugar:
In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and powdered sugar together using an electric mixer until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).

3. Add vanilla extract:
Mix in the vanilla extract until well combined.

4. Add dry ingredients:
Sift in the flour, cornstarch, and salt. Mix until a soft dough forms.

5. Pipe the cookies:
Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe small rosettes or swirls onto the prepared baking tray.

6. Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.

7. Cool and serve:
Allow cookies to cool on the tray for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
