Chocolate Orange Cheesecake
Ingredients
For the crust:
200 g (2 cups) chocolate cookies (crushed)
100 g (1/2 cup) melted butter
For the chocolate layer:
150 g (5 oz) dark chocolate (melted)
100 ml (1/2 cup) heavy cream
1 tbsp butter
For the cheesecake layer:
500 g (2 cups) cream cheese (softened)
150 g (3/4 cup) sugar
3 eggs
200 ml (3/4 cup) sour cream
2 tbsp orange juice
1 tbsp orange zest
1 tsp vanilla extract
For the topping:
Fresh orange slices
Optional: a little orange marmalade or glaze for shine

Instructions
1. Prepare the crust:
Mix crushed chocolate cookies with melted butter.
Press the mixture into the bottom and sides of a springform pan.
Chill for 10 minutes in the fridge.
2. Make the chocolate layer:
Melt the chocolate with butter and cream until smooth.
Pour over the crust and spread evenly.
Chill for 15 minutes to set.
3. Make the cheesecake layer:
In a bowl, beat the cream cheese and sugar until creamy.
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well.
Mix in sour cream, orange juice, zest, and vanilla.
Pour this mixture over the chocolate layer.
4. Bake:
Preheat the oven to 160°C (320°F).
Bake for 50–60 minutes, until the center is just set.
Turn off the oven and let it cool inside with the door slightly open.
5. Chill:
Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
6. Decorate:
Top with fresh orange slices before serving.
Optionally brush with warm orange marmalade for a glossy finish.
