Trifle

With recipe 📌
Trifle not only looks spectacular, it tastes delicious too. Our strawberry trifle tastes summery and fresh and is the highlight of any party.

INGREDIENTS

FOR THE FRUIT
500g strawberries
1 lemon
1 tbsp sugar
50ml raspberry brandy or rum (alternatively juice)

FOR THE CREAM

250g sponge cakes
500g low-fat quark
200g sour cream
2 packets of bourbon vanilla sugar
70g sugar
250g whipping cream

ALSO
150g fresh berries for garnish

PREPARATION

Step 1
Wash the strawberries, pat dry, and quarter them. Halve the lemon and squeeze the juice. Mix the strawberries with the lemon juice, sugar, and alcohol, if desired. Let it sit for 30 minutes.  Remove 1/5 of the fruit and puree it into a berry sauce.

Step 2
Cut the sponge cake into cubes. Place half of the pieces in a trifle glass container. Drizzle with berry sauce. Mix the quark, sour cream, vanilla sugar, and sugar until smooth. Whisk the cream with a hand mixer until stiff peaks form and fold into the cream.

Step 3
Place the marinated strawberries upright on the rim of the trifle glass. Pour in half of the cream and smooth it out. Layer the remaining sponge cake cubes and cream one at a time. Cover and let stand for at least 1.5 hours. Before serving, garnish the trifle with fresh seasonal berries and, if desired, with biscuit crumbs.
