Chocolate Tres Leches Cake
Ingredients
1. Cake:
– 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
– 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
– 2 teaspoons baking powder
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
– 1/2 cup whole milk, at room temperature
– 3 large eggs
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2. Tres Leches:
– 1 cup evaporated milk
– 1 cup heavy cream
– 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
3. Chocolate Whipped Cream:
– 1 cup heavy cream
– 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
– 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
– 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
1. Preheat: Oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. Prepare cake: Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, whisk cocoa powder, milk, eggs, and vanilla. Combine wet and dry ingredients.
3. Bake: Pour batter into prepared dish. Bake 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
4. Tres Leches: Poke holes in the warm cake with a skewer. Pour evaporated milk, heavy cream, and sweetened condensed milk evenly over the cake.
5. Refrigerate: Chill for at least 2 hours or overnight.
6. Chocolate Whipped Cream: Beat heavy cream, cocoa powder, sugar, and salt until stiff peaks form.
7. Assemble: Top the cake with chocolate whipped cream.
