Crispy Chicken Strips

Crispy Chicken Strips recipe

Ingredients

1. Chicken: 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips
2. Breading mixture:
1. 1 cup all-purpose flour
  2. 1 teaspoon paprika
  3. 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  4. 1 teaspoon salt
  5. 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  6. 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
3. Wet ingredients:
1. 2 eggs
  2. 1 cup buttermilk
4. Coating: 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
5. Frying: Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

1. Prepare breading mixture: Mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, black pepper and cayenne pepper (if using) in a shallow dish.

2. Prepare wet ingredients: Whisk eggs and buttermilk in a separate shallow dish.

3. Prepare panko breadcrumbs: Place panko breadcrumbs in a third shallow dish.

4. Dredge chicken: Dip each chicken strip in flour mixture, shaking off excess.

5. Dip in wet ingredients: Dip floured chicken in egg mixture, coating completely.

6. Coat with panko: Roll egg-coated chicken in panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.

7. Fry: Heat 1/2-inch vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high. Fry chicken strips 5-6 minutes per side or until golden brown and cooked through.

8. Drain: Place fried chicken on paper towels to drain excess oil.

9. Serve: Serve hot and enjoy!
