Starbucks-Style Lemon Pound Cake

Who doesn’t love lemon pound cake with that tangy yet sweet twist? This delicious, fluffy pound cake topped with lemon glaze is perfect to pair with your morning coffee or enjoy as a dessert. An irresistible classic!

Ingredients

• ½ cup melted butter
• 1 ¼ cups sugar
• 2 large eggs
• ⅓ cup fresh lemon juice
• 2 tablespoons lemon zest
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
• 1 tablespoon baking powder
• ½ cup milk
• ¼ cup powdered sugar
• 1 egg white
• Water (optional)

Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.

2️⃣ Dough: Cream the butter with 1 cup of sugar until smooth. Add the eggs and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice.

3️⃣ Dry ingredients: Add the flour, salt, and baking powder. Add the milk and mix until you have a homogeneous dough.

4️⃣ Bake: Pour the dough into the pan and bake for 50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

5️⃣ Syrup: While the cake cools, mix the remaining sugar with the lemon juice and heat slightly so that the sugar dissolves. Make small holes in the cake and pour this mixture over it so that it absorbs it.

6️⃣ Glaze: Mix the icing sugar with the egg white and lemon juice. If necessary, add a little water to achieve a liquid consistency. Cover the cake with this glaze and let it harden. Ready to enjoy!
