Puff pastry with minced meat
With recipe 📌
Puff pastry filled with minced meat is a treat for the whole family. You can prepare this simple recipe in a relaxed manner and then put it in the oven when you’re hungry.
INGREDIENTS
1 pack of puff pastry (270g; from the refrigerated section)
1 medium-sized onion
1 red pepper
2 tbsp neutral cooking oil (e.g. sunflower oil)
500 g mixed minced meat
100 g grated cheese (e.g. Gouda)
2 eggs (size M)
A little salt to season
A little pepper to season
PREPARATION
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees top/bottom heat (fan oven: 180 degrees). Line a baking tray with baking paper. Peel the onion and cut into fine cubes. Wash and dry the peppers, remove the core and cut into small cubes.
Step 2
Heat the oil in a pan and sauté the onion cubes until translucent, then add the minced meat and fry until crispy. Finally, add the pepper cubes and fry them too. Allow the mixture to cool, then mix in the grated cheese and 1 egg and season everything with salt and pepper.
Step 3
Separate the second egg. Roll out the puff pastry and brush each side with egg white. Spread the minced meat mixture onto the dough, leaving a border free on the sides. Roll up the dough from the short side, pressing the ends together slightly.
Step 4
Brush the puff pastry roll with egg yolk and bake in the preheated oven for around 25 minutes until golden brown. Then cut into slices and serve warm. The puff pastry with minced meat filling makes around 10 slices and will keep in the fridge for at least 2 days.
