Funfetti Christmas Bread
Ingredients
For the Bread:
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
2 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
3 large eggs
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup whole milk
1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup Christmas-colored sprinkles (red, green, and white)
Optional Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
1-2 tablespoons milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Extra sprinkles for topping
Instructions
Prepare the Oven and Pan:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a standard loaf pan, or line it with parchment paper.
Cream Butter and Sugar:
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Add Wet Ingredients:
Beat in the vanilla extract, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Stir in the sour cream and whole milk until fully combined.
Combine Dry Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and baking soda.
Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Gently fold in the Christmas-colored sprinkles, ensuring they’re evenly distributed.
Bake:
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Prepare the Glaze (Optional):
In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Adjust the consistency as needed by adding more milk.
Decorate and Serve:
Once the bread has cooled, drizzle the glaze over the top and sprinkle extra festive sprinkles.
